Platform: EU - Users Experiencing 404 Errors to Secret Server

Incident Overview

Between 09:40 AM and 10:23 AM Central Time on June 11, 2025, users accessing Secret Server through the EU Platform experienced 404 Page Not Found errors. The issue was isolated to indirect access via the Platform integration, while direct access to Secret Server remained unaffected. The error occurred when attempting to load the file ../staticbuild/remoteEntry.js.

Root Cause

On June 10, 2025, the scheduled deployment of Secret Server Cloud (SSC) to the EU region was postponed due to unmet build release dependencies.

On June 11 around 9:00 AM Central, a configuration change was made on Platform to begin serving latest Angular static builds. However, the new build referenced static paths that were not yet available in the EU region, resulting in 404 errors for files such as ../staticbuild/remoteEntry.js and causing the SSC integration to fail.

After the build dependencies were addressed, the SSC deployment was retried and completed successfully. This restored the missing static paths and resolved the issue.

Preventive Actions

1. Implement proactive monitoring of build release dependencies to prevent deployment failures.
2. Add pre-deployment validation checks to ensure all dependent artifacts (e.g., static builds) are available in regional environments before switching configurations.
